Silverbrook’s Maple and Mushroom Woodland Walk

Explore how Silverbrook Manor’s woodland supports the production of agricultural products.

During this guided working-farm walk, visitors will learn how Silverbrook identifies and manages trees for maple production, uses woodland conditions for mushroom cultivation and works with the forest as part of a regenerative agricultural system.

The program will cover:

• Identifying maple trees and preparing for tapping season
• Understanding sap flow and seasonal maple production
• Selecting and managing logs for mushroom cultivation
• Recognizing how shade, moisture and decomposition support farm production
• Protecting woodland soil, habitat and future harvests

The walk concludes with a demonstration of Silverbrook maple and mushroom products. Available farm products will be offered for purchase.

Duration: 60–75 minutes

Advance registration required
Approximately 1 mile over natural woodland terrain

Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring water, insect protection and weather-appropriate layers.

This agricultural program is hosted to demonstrate, promote, and market products grown and produced at Silverbrook Manor.
