Food formulas · spice blends
Eight jars, 25 directions
Start from the pantry tray: salt, pepper, garlic, onion, thyme, oregano, basil, rosemary. Drop a few, add one or two, and you're in a different cuisine. Each formula is tuned rather than equal parts, so the lead flavor leads. Flip any blend to 1:1 to compare.

Tap what's in your cupboard. Blends you can make fully rise to the top.
Amounts are for dried herbs and ground spices, as starting ratios. Regional and family versions vary, so taste and adjust.
Crush rosemary and lavender before mixing. Blends with salt or sugar clump, so shake the jar before using. Ground blends keep their punch for about six months in a dark cupboard.
Inspired by @forkthepeople's "Food Formulas: Spice Blends" reel. Formulas here are written independently.
